Accommodation Ratings

Accommodation Ratings

We rate our accommodation from 1 – 3 stars. This is not the same as the usual star rating you might expect when staying at a hotel. It is a guide from us on what to expect on your tour. Some tours will have a mix of stars, which will be outlined on the tour page. Tour and holiday accommodation can vary from camping to 5* hotels.

Below is an explanation for each star:

1 star

Most likely some form of camping, including glamping. It will mean you will be sleeping in a tent or similar. Usually with little or no access to electrics. At times there may also be no facilities such as showers. Very rarely are there no toilets on or tours, however, some tours involve wild camping where there would be no toilet facilities.

2 stars

Hostel-style accommodation. Usually staying in group accommodation such as bunk beds. Expect basic facilities that are likely shared with others. There may be options to upgrade to a private room, this will be made clear in your Tour Information Pack. The standard of this style of accommodation can vary, we do however choose the accommodation that we feel suits the tour and its guests.

3 stars

Hotel, AirBnB or shared house. This style of accommodation will usually mean you have a private room and ensuite (not always.) Hotels will vary from 2-5 stars in rating and this will be reflected in the price of the holiday or tour. We also use BnBs, including AirBnbs and shared houses such as holiday cottages that sleep large numbers. The accommodation type will be stated on the tour page and in the Tour Information Pack.
